Our Services
-
Ground screws are a no-concrete foundation that screw into the ground. They offer fast, stable support for outdoor structures.
-
Helical piles are engineered for deeper, heavier-duty applications.
-
Pull-down micro piles combine helical piles with grout to create a reinforced, high-capacity foundation. They’re ideal for heavy loads and poor soil, offering strong support with minimal excavation.
-
Helical pile testing measures the load capacity and performance of a pile after installation. Common tests include tension, compression, and lateral load tests to ensure stability and compliance with engineering requirements.
What are Ground Screws?
Ground screws are steel foundation anchors that are screwed directly into the ground to support structures without the need for concrete. Designed with helical threads, they provide strong, stable footing for everything from decks and sheds to solar arrays and fences.
Quick to install and suitable for a wide range of soil types, ground screws offer a reliable, low-impact, eco-friendly alternative to traditional foundations.
How to Choose the right Ground Screw
Choosing the right ground screw depends on the type of structure, soil conditions, and expected load.
Key factors include the length and diameter of the screw, the size of the helical threads, and the depth needed to reach stable soil.
For light structures like decks or fences, shorter screws may suffice, while heavier loads or poor soil may require longer, larger-diameter screws.
A site evaluation or consultation with a foundation expert ensures the right choice for long-term stability.
How are ground screws installed?
Using specialized machinery either a hand held electric driver or a machine mounted hydraulic driver, the screw is rotated into the ground much like a large bolt, anchoring itself securely into the soil.
As it turns, the helical threads pull the shaft downward until the desired depth or torque is reached, ensuring proper load-bearing capacity.
Once installed, the screw is immediately ready to support structures, making it ideal for both new construction and repairs in a wide range of soil conditions.
Life Span of ground Screws
Ground screws can last between 50 to 100 years depending on soil conditions and environmental exposure. Made from galvanized steel and designed to resist corrosion, they provide long-term stability without the need for regular maintenance.
In most residential and commercial applications, ground screws will outlast traditional wood or concrete footings, making them a reliable and durable foundation solution.
